The survey shows that in 3 of the 50 U.S. states, buyer demand is now very strong; only 2 of the 50 states have a \u2018weak\u2019 demand. Overall, buyer demand is slightly lower than this time last year but remains strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Seller Supply&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The index also asked:\u00a0<em>\u201cHow would you rate seller traffic in your area?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"848\" src=\"https:\/\/phphouses.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190930-MEM-2-1024x848.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/phphouses.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190930-MEM-2-1024x848.png 1024w, https:\/\/phphouses.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190930-MEM-2-300x248.png 300w, https:\/\/phphouses.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190930-MEM-2-768x636.png 768w, https:\/\/phphouses.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/20190930-MEM-2.png 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As the map below shows, 18 states reported \u2018weak\u2019 seller traffic, 29 states and Washington, D.C. reported \u2018stable\u2019 seller traffic, and 3 states reported \u2018strong\u2019 seller traffic. This means there are far fewer homes on the market than what is needed to satisfy the buyers who are looking for homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bottom Line<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at the maps above, it is not hard to see why prices are appreciating in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mykcm.com\/2019\/07\/26\/home-prices-up-5-05-across-the-country-infographic\/\">many areas<\/a>\u00a0of the country. Until the supply of homes for sale starts to meet buyer demand, prices will continue to increase.
