Sellers Have Incredible Leverage in Today\u2019s Market<\/p><\/div>\n

With\u00a0mortgage rates<\/a>\u00a0climbing above 3% for the first time in months, serious buyers are more motivated than ever to find a home\u00a0before the end of the year. Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist for the\u00a0National Association of Realtors\u00a0<\/em>(NAR), puts it best,\u00a0saying<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cHousing demand remains strong as buyers likely want to secure a home before\u00a0mortgage rates increase even further next year<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But the sense of urgency they feel is complicated by the\u00a0lack of homes<\/a>\u00a0for sale in today\u2019s market. According to the latest\u00a0Existing Home Sales Report<\/em><\/a>\u00a0from NAR:<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom one year ago, the inventory of\u00a0unsold homes decreased 13%. . . .\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What Does This Mean for Sellers Today?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

With buyers eager to purchase but so few homes available, sellers who list their houses\u00a0this fall<\/a>\u00a0have a tremendous advantage \u2013 also known as leverage \u2013 when negotiating with buyers. That\u2019s because, in\u00a0today\u2019s market<\/a>, buyers want three things:<\/p>\n
