Here\u2019s a look at the two surprising things buyers seem to be searching for in today\u2019s market, and how they\u2019re impacting new home builds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Homebuyers Are Not Giving Up Their Garages<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>National Association of Home Builders&nbsp;<\/em>(NAHB) recently released an&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/eyeonhousing.org\/2019\/12\/garages-in-new-homes-2018-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a>&nbsp;showing the percentage of new single-family homes completed in 2018. Community areas are often common amenities in new neighborhoods, but as it turns out, private outdoor spaces are quite desirable too.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/eyeonhousing.org\/2019\/12\/share-of-new-homes-with-patios-edges-up-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NAHB<\/a>&nbsp;also found that,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><em>\u201cOf the roughly 876,000 single-family homes started in 2018, 59.4% came with patios\u2026This is the highest the number has been since NAHB began tracking the series in 2005.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As shown in the graph below, the number of new homes built with patios has been increasing for the past 9 years.
