In the latest\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.corelogic.com\/news\/corelogic-reports-december-home-prices-increased-by-4-percent-year-over-year.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Home Price Insights<\/em><\/a>\u00a0report,\u00a0<em>CoreLogic\u00a0<\/em>reveals how home prices increased by 4% year-over-year and projects prices will rise 5.2% by December 2020.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why is this good news for the homeowners?<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>When prices appreciate, homeowners gain\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mykcm.com\/2019\/08\/14\/the-benefits-of-growing-equity-in-your-home\/\">equity<\/a>. In addition, those planning to sell this year, especially in the entry-level market, can potentially earn a substantial profit.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Dr. Frank Nothaft,\u00a0<em>Chief Economist<\/em>\u00a0at\u00a0<em>CoreLogic<\/em>, says:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\r\n<p><em>\u201cModerately priced homes are in high demand and short supply, pushing up values\u2026Homes that sold for 25% or more below the local median price experienced a 5.9% price gain in 2019, compared with a 3.7% gain for homes that sold for 25% or more above the median.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As Dr. Nothaft indicates, the lack of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mykcm.com\/2020\/02\/12\/the-1-reason-to-list-your-house-right-now\/\">inventory<\/a>\u00a0continues to drive home price growth. This means there\u2019s a high demand for homes in this tier of the market, making it a great time to consider using your equity to move up to a bigger or more premium home.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>When you upgrade your home, you may be able to find the amenities or features you\u2019ve dreamed of \u2013 such as a yard to plant or garden in with your family this spring, or more outdoor space for entertaining this summer.
