As we get back to work and the financial landscape of the country begins to turn around, many experts also agree that real estate has the potential to lead the way in the recovery process.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cHousing will fare better than expected during this severe downturn.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cMortgage demand from home buyers shows unexpectedly strong and quick recovery\u2026The quick recovery has surprised most forecasters.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Robert Dietz,\u00a0Chief Economist<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Senior Vice President for Economics and Housing Policy<\/em>\u00a0of the\u00a0National Association of Home Builders<\/em>\u00a0(NAHB)\u00a0says<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, the data lend evidence\u00a0<\/em>to the NAHB forecast that housing will be a leading sector in an eventual economic recovery.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One of the big reasons why housing has the potential to be such a driving force is the significant impact it has on the local economy. This impact is particularly strong when a newly constructed home is built and sold. According to a recent\u00a0study<\/a>\u00a0by the\u00a0National Association of Realtors<\/em>\u00a0(NAR), the average new home sale has a total economic impact of $88,416. As outlined in the graphic below, this is a combination of income generated from real estate industries, expenditures, and new home construction.<\/p>\n
